I took $100 US dollars into the country that makes almost everything you own — and genuinely struggled to spend it. Street feasts for a few dollars, a $60 hotel with a robot in the lobby, 40-cent metro rides, a "designer" bracelet that retails for $30,000 selling unbranded for $10 — and the single most expensive thing I bought in three weeks was… an ice cream. Every price in this video is a real receipt from my trip across Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Guiyang, plus the economics of WHY it's all this cheap — and the traps to avoid.
