I spent 3 weeks travelling across China — Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guiyang, Chongqing, Chengdu and Haikou — and almost everything I expected turned out to be wrong.
I grew up hearing the same stories everyone hears: surveillance cameras on every corner, grey cities, propaganda, unfriendly people. This is what I actually found — filmed on my own camera, with real prices, real trains, real food, and a few moments I still can't believe.
