We liked Bacalar so much we stayed another day.
This time we went deeper, dug into the history of the town, explored the old fort that's been sitting on the edge of the lagoon for hundreds of years, hunted down what turned out to be one of the best burgers we've had in all of Mexico, and finished the night wandering through the local market with a cold lagoon beer in hand.
Bacalar is one of those places that keeps giving the more time you spend in it. Most people pass through for a day. I get why they regret it.
