For our very first hour in Chengdu, we ended up at the most amazing meerkat cafe in China. We grabbed a cheap drink and got to hang out directly with these curious little guys as they literally tried to dig into my shoes. We even fed them real maggots and couldn't believe how absolutely wild they went for the food. While I usually have mixed feelings about animal cafes, we actually found out these meerkats are rescues who have been raised by humans since they were babies.
